Description

Warlock Joe (Josiah Darksoul) is a notorious magic-user who has achieved immortality, and now spends his vast free time constructing “dungeons”, into which he lures monsters and adventurers, as a hobby. The Tower of Power is one of these, a 5-room dungeon containing an assortment of challenges he has thrown together for fun. This adventure is for a group of four adventurers of 3rd level.

A 150ft-tall square tower, 50ft on each side, juts up from the ground in the center of a clearing. It is windowless, unadorned grey stone, but above the front double doors a garish sign reads “Warlock Joe’s Tower of Power!” Upon approaching the doors, an illusory image of a bearded, disheveled man in stained wizard’s robe and hat flickers into existence, and greets you

Warlock Joe will explain the nature of the dungeon, and tell them there is something really good on the top floor of the tower. He won’t tell them what it is, but he insists that it’s worth it, and opens the door. Just before they enter, he casually asks the PC’s level. He winces at their answer, but tells them they will probably be fine and closes the door behind them.

The walls, ceilings, and floors are all 10ft thick and reinforced by magic walls of force. Unless otherwise stated, each area inside the tower is a 40x40x20ft stone room dimly lit with flickering blue magic light, with a steel ladder up to a locked trapdoor leading to the next area. Each room contains a key to progress, but the trapdoor can be forced open, or its lock picked DC 15.
