Description

Long Bear Valley is a Cascadian Fantasy Hex-Crawl for 3rd level adventurers.

Begin in hex 1. Giant sword ferns, fallen cedars, and the ever-pounding rain limit travel to one hex per day; every step must be earned with a machete. The valley is encircled by cliff faced mountains, except hex 1 which exits homeward to the south. The adventurers must return to hex 1 within three weeks to catch a convoy back home.

Adventure Hooks (1d4)

1. Beasts: Cryptozoologists seek strange creatures in Long Bear Valley: a ‘plesiosaur’, a ‘stobor’, and a ‘Long Bear’. They offer 800gp for deceased specimens and 1200gp for live ones. (The stobor is fictional, but the others exist.)

2. Wealth: Legends say seven golden shields are hidden in the north of the valley, guarded by rivers and beasts alike.

3. Crime: Vucci Glutton, heterodox haberdasher, is wanted dead or alive by the Fashion Police. A 2000gp reward is posted. (Roll 1d20 to determine what hex he occupies. He is a Weretiger.)

4. Curiosity: The Cartographers Guild will pay 100gp per hex mapped
