You've read and watched enough superheroes, it's time to become one. Paragons is a dynamic new TTRPG that puts you in the roll of the heroic individuals of comic and screen. Influenced by shows like Teen Titans and Batman: The Animated Series, while drawing mechanical inspiration from legendary games like Shadowrun, Pathfinder 2e, and the Year Zero Engine, Paragons is a system designed to be super.
What is Paragons?
We are living in an age rife with superheroes. From the big screen to television shows to comic books to novels, heroes have been at the forefront of the public psyche for some time. And yet to this day something about the genre is missing: you. Superheroes teach us that we can be something more, that we're capable of amazing feats, as emulated by these humans with extraordinary powers who still need to dig deep and conquer their fears to succeed. And yet you're never put directly into the shoes of such a hero. Sure, you can play as a superhero in video games, but do they give you the infinite customizability to create a hero that's truly yours? No. But Paragons can. Paragons is a brand new superhero table top roleplaying game system that combines the fluid, fast-paced action of Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse with the roleplaying potential of Pathfinder 2e. With this innovative system you can be a hero, or perhaps something more.
Heroes? No...
Being a hero is about so much more than trekking across long stretches of empty fields and fighting little green ghouls. It's about being in the public eye, setting an example, overcoming impossible odds, bearing the responsibility of power, and grappling with the morality of each of your actions. All of this is taken into account in the Paragons system. With fast and fluid mechanics, the point of Paragons is to tell the stories you've always wanted without getting bogged down, stories about people, about triumphs, about villains, but most importantly, stories about...
Superheroes
Create your character using one of 8 different classic hero archetypes, and draw their abilities from over 60 unique options. By implementing the system that includes Cool Points, Investigations, Training, and Reputation, Paragons will give you the authentic feeling of being a powered individual in a world that needs your help.
The Mechanics
But how is it actually played? Paragons uses a d6 dice pool system inspired by games like Shadowrun and the Year Zero Engine so that you can keep your sessions moving fast. It has metrics that allow you to measure more than just your strength and speed, like your Reputation, which ensures you aren't just acting like a hero, but coming across like on too. With the near-infinite customizability provided by the 60+ ability options you'll never run out of new ways to play a character. Paragons also comes with its own unique setting, ready to drop your heroes into. Beyond the character creation mechanics and world, Paragons includes a toolkit that will allow GMs to easily run the game out of the box. With rules and creation mechanics that only take a few minutes to get you off and running, you can be playing this superhero TTRPG in a flash. Or as The Flash if that's something you're interested in.
