After the madness of our last campaigns we’re back with an original. We wanted to create something that embodies not just sick dice designs, but personal campaigns an inspirations from our favorite pieces of media. If you're anything like us your D&D campaigns have probably taken a dice into piracy at some point, and with so many amazing films, shows, and books about tales from the high seas, we had to make an homage to the genre.
For this next campaign (and honestly, probably the next few), we wanted to take a massive swing. We are beyond hyped to finally announce the project our entire team has been obsessed with for months: Eldritch Pirate Dice Sets.
Here's the flavor: The Black Tide went down with everything still aboard. Lately, weird, waterlogged relics have started showing up on the black market. Things that were supposed to be lost forever. At first, folks just wrote it off as con artists trying to make a quick coin, but the truth is out: the treasure of The Black Tide has resurfaced. Every chart marks the wreck in a different place. Crews that go looking come back with a different story, if they come back at all. But everyone knows she was carrying a fortune in goods and coin, and it's just sitting there in the dark waiting to be claimed.
Our new product designer Natthan has been deep in the lab trying out concepts and materials, and creating products we’ve never even touched before. We're talking real wooden dice sets, fossilized coral, and—wait for it—Loaded Dice Sets. (Yes, we see the irony. Only Crits making loaded dice. We couldn't resist).
And we aren't stopping at the dice. We’re building brand-new tabletop accessories from the ground up so they match that gritty, deep-sea pirate aesthetic. That includes custom inspiration tokens, and our pride and joy, the Tomb of the Black Tide, a dice case that's designed to look like an old book, so you can display it on a bookshelf while keeping your sets afe.
If you're into pirates, eldritch horrors lurking in the deep, or whatever cursed monstrosities live in the Venn diagram between the two, then check out the products we're hoping to create. We know this specific vibe might not be for everyone, but you guys trusted us enough to get us to this point. We’d rather spend that goodwill trying something wild and new instead of just playing it safe.
